DAY TRIP

Barcelona — day trip from Mas Luna

The famous one. Most people fly here and stay in the city. From Mas Luna it's a one-hour train ride — and you sleep in the quiet of the Catalan hills, away from the crowds.

WHAT TO DO

Around here

Sagrada Família

Sagrada Família

Book online weeks ahead. Don't skip it. It's better than the photos.

Park Güell

Park Güell

The most photographed Gaudí park. Go at opening time. The Bunkers del Carmel give you a similar view of the city, free, less crowded.

Gothic Quarter

Gothic Quarter

Wander without an agenda. Get lost in the alleys.

Bunkers del Carmel

Bunkers del Carmel

Civil War-era anti-aircraft positions on a hill in the Carmel district. Free, the best sunset view of the city. Take metro and walk.

Eat in Gràcia

Eat in Gràcia

A quieter neighbourhood with great food. Mercat de Sant Antoni and Mercat de la Llibertat are better than the tourist-heavy Boqueria. Avoid La Rambla restaurants.

Football

Football

Camp Nou is closed for renovation (planned reopening late 2026). FC Barcelona currently plays at the Olympic Stadium on Montjuïc.

PRACTICAL

Getting there

  • Train from Reus: ~70 minutes to Barcelona Sants, several daily
  • Park & Ride from Tarragona: 1h 5min, more frequent connections
  • Day trip is feasible if you start early; an overnight pairs well with a Mas Luna stay

One hour of train, one full city

Check availability — and pack good walking shoes.
