Walk through the olive groves around Mas Luna. Some trees are over five hundred years old. In November you can join the harvest at neighbouring farms.
Antoni Gaudí was born in Reus in 1852. The city has its own Modernisme circuit — Casa Navàs, the Institut Pere Mata, the Mercat Central. Less famous than Barcelona's Gaudí works, but free of crowds.
The biggest weekly market in southern Catalonia. Fruit, cheese, olives, cured ham, fabric. Goes from early morning to noon. Park outside the centre and walk in.
Reus is the official birthplace of Spanish vermouth. The local tradition lives on — Saturday at noon, bars across the city pour vermouth on the rocks with an olive and an orange peel. Tradition demands tapas alongside.
